Building a new home for the Oldest Mounted Patrol Unit in the United States

The mission of the First Mile Stable Charitable Foundation is to construct an equestrian facility on the property of the B&O Railroad Museum for the use of the Baltimore Police Mounted Unit. Through the construction of this new facility, the Foundation will support the Unit's role in public safety and create an opportunity for the Baltimore Police Department to present the history of the oldest police mounted unit in the United States. The mission will be fulfilled through fund raising for the initial major capital needs of the facility, for future capital expenditures, and for providing a venue through which public education programs, exhibits, tours and other interpretive tools related to the Baltimore Police Department may reach the widest possible audience.
